In Kedah and Perak states, federal Route 76 is a federal highway. The 163.7-km federal highway is used as the primary route to travel to Thailand via Keroh and Betong, as well as the main route connecting Perak and Kedah to the East-West Highway FT4. The highway’s initial alignment was infamous for its numerous, hazardous sharp corners, though. The Kuala Kangsar-Gerik portion of the highway was upgraded to avoid the dangerous corners along the Sauk-Lenggong section, which was a safety concern.
